We are looking for an experienced engineer to help with our day-to-day activities, including integrating new sources and extending our ETL infrastructure. Our current system includes various tools and services such as workflow management systems, message brokers, a data lake, a data warehouse, and infrastructure-as-code tools. As the company grows, new teams are forming around the DE team, and they need help with their batch and streaming pipelines.

We also have ETL system process improvements that go along with team interactions. If you have good programming skills or knowledge in the data engineering field and want to join our development process, we are waiting for you. Although we value good programmers even if they lack experience in other areas, the following is the formal set of requirements that will help you in this future job.

🛠 What You’ll Get Your Hands On:

• Enterprise Mart Development & DE Support: Partnering with the Data Engineering team to develop, maintain, and optimize reliable core transformation layers and Enterprise Data Marts in dbt.
• Application Marts Support: Help developers with performance (schedules) or logic-related questions regarding marts or views extracted by application.
• Data Conformation: Work on common presentation of marts or dimensions for new services to match old ones.
• Data Quality & Support: Supporting BI and downstream teams by ensuring the core data marts are accurate, troubleshooting data discrepancies.
• Pipeline Optimization: Helping migrate legacy transformation logic into cleaner, modular dbt. Optimize performance using incremental materialization.
• Data Governance & Contracts: Helping establish clear data contracts, metadata documentation, and schema enforcement so downstream teams understand how to use the enterprise marts safely.

🧙‍♂️ The Magic You Bring:

• Strong dbt Knowledge & Experience: Practical experience building and maintaining complex dbt projects, including code modularization, macros, merge strategies. Strong depth in this area is highly beneficial.
• Proficient SQL & Enterprise Data Modeling: Solid command of advanced SQL (window functions, CTEs) and a strong understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling concepts specifically tailored for core Enterprise Data Marts.
• Self-Directed Data Discovery & Exploration: Highly autonomous in investigating unknown or messy raw data structures (such as semi-structured JSON or event logs). Able to "reverse engineer" existing code and schemas to understand data lineage and context independently, without relying heavily on developer support.
• Performance & Cost Optimization: Good understanding of cloud database tuning, including optimizing query performance, partitioning, and clustering within modern query engines to manage warehouse compute costs.
• Databricks Ecosystem: Familiarity or hands-on experience with the Databricks platform and Delta Tables is highly beneficial, as it is a core part of our modern stack.
• AI-Assisted Development: Experience using AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or Cursor) to speed up data profiling, write boilerplate code, and automate documentation.
• Cloud Data Warehouses: Hands-on experience working with cloud data platforms, specifically Google BigQuery.
• Engineering & CI/CD Best Practices: Strong understanding of version control (Git) and how code moves through automated testing and deployment pipelines (CI/CD).
• Semantic Modeling Awareness: Understanding of semantic modeling, metric management, or downstream business-specific data marts is a plus, though your main focus remains on the enterprise layer.
